Modi Lends His Support For 1000 Cr Film

Is BJP Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi supporting all the films which promote Hinduism? Narendra Modi during a public meeting mentioned about SS Rajamouli directed magnum opus film Baahubali 2: The Conclusion which he feels will support Hindu Dharma. Now, the Prime Minister backs another South Indian film which is made based on Hindu Holy Book Mahabharata.

We all know that, Mollywood superstar Mohanlal is teaming up with ad filmmaker Shrikumar for Mahabharatam which will be made on a whopping budget of Rs 1000 crore. While the film is slated to go on the floors next year, an interesting update has materialized. 

As per reports, Modi has written a letter to producer BR Shetty, expressing his support for the giant project. In his letter, Modi has said he is awaiting the release of the film, which will be a matter of pride for the entire nation. 

Reports also suggest the the team has sought permission to meet Narendra Modi on July 7. It must be noted that the film ran into a controversy when the president of the Kerala Hindu Aikya Vedi had threatened to stall the release of Mohanlal's film if they use the title Mahabharatam.

Mohanlal plays Bheema, while actors Nagarjuna has been approached for Karna's role. Also, the latest buzz is that actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan are being considered for the film.
