Hema Malini As Gautami Balasri, A Criticism
After watching Ramya Krishna as Rajamatha Shivagami Devi in ‘Bahubali,’ there is no way one can call Hema Malini’s Gautami Balasri look in ‘Gauthami Putra Satakarni’ as superb or extra ordinary. Although, the crucial backdrops and character designs may be different for both the movies but comparisons between these two are ought to come because Ramya Krishna and Hema Malini are artists with huge stature.
A set of audience have openly commented on Hema Malini looked like a wrong selection for a movie made with complete Telugu backdrop. Hema is a dream girl for yester generation North Indian audience and her casting would have been appropriate if GPS had a release in Hindi version too.
Instead Krish always has an open option to rope in a senior female artist having close association with Telugu audience, someone like Sreedevi. Well, it can be too early to analyze. For the moment, when GPS is examined more as Balayya’s 100th film, rest of the artists may have minimal media focus.
