Kamaal R Khan, Karan Johar in 25 Lakhs Review Controversy
Are movie reviewers and critics paid decent money in Bollywood? There’s a widely accepted fact that everything can be managed in Hindi film industry because it’s a give n take relation between media and producers which helps both of them to be in win-win situation. Latest allegations from noted hero, producer and director Ajay Devgn against so called critic Kamaal R Khan is raking a controversy in Mumbai film circles.
As per the reports, Ajay Devgn was deeply upset with Kamaal R Khan’s bad propaganda and report on ‘Shivaay’ teaser while the same critic is seen appreciating Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ in a teaser review. Fact is that both ‘Shivaay’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ are set to compete against each other in October season on the same day.
When Devgn called up KRK on phone to know more about what went wrong and why was he criticizing ‘Shivaay,’ sour facts rolled out. In a leaked phone conversation tape, KRK confessed on receiving 25 Lakhs from Karan Johar to speak positively about ADHM.
‘I have been a part of the Indian film industry for the past 25 years and have been associated with over 100 films. My father was a professional action director and I have an emotional connection with this industry.
It therefore pains me to see that people like Kamaal R Khan are holding the film industry to ransom by spreading negativity about films to extort money from producers. It is very sad that people from our own industry are supporting such elements and spoiling the ethos of the film industry.
I would strongly demand that this be thoroughly investigated by competent authorities to clarify if Karan Johar was indeed involved in this, ‘Ajay Devgn said in an official press release.
