With not too many hits to her credit, Sonam Kapoor, hit a jackpot of sorts with her last release 'Neerja' which became quiet a hit at the box office and also she received positive feedback about her acting skills both from the critics and the audience alike. But now she seems to be changing her mind working on the kind of films going ahead in her career. While Sonam's contemporaries like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are currently doing films in the English-language Hollywood, films in Russian or Chinese or French have not been tried often by Indian actors.
And Sonam wants to do just that. While at a screening of a Punjabi film, when asked if she would do a Punjabi film, said, "I don't know the language; I do understand it. I understand Sindhi and Hindi more, but why not? I don't think, as an actor, a language should curb your enthusiasm. "If I like the story and if it is Punjabi, Chinese, Hindi, Marathi, Russian, French or any language, I will do it if I like the character." The only actors in recent times that can be considered to have worked in foreign language film apart from English is Sonu Sood and Amyra Dastur who are working with superstar Jackie Chan in the English-Hindi-Mandarin film Kung Fu Yoga.
