Chiranjeevi celebrates a 61st birthday – Interesting facts about Megastar!

It’s a special day for Tollywood and they will be celebrating today as it marks the 61st Birthday of Megastar Chiranjeevi. We at wish Chiranjeevi a very happy birthday.

He was born on August 22nd, 1955. His father konidela Venkata Rao was a police constable. Chiru showed interest in acting since his young age. After finishing graduation from Sri Y N College at Narasapur, he joined Madras Film Institute in Chennai to pursue his acting career.

He started his career by doing small roles in movies and he rose to fame gradually. He became the biggest star in Telugu cinema. Today, August 22nd happens to be his 61st birthday and it also marks his completion of 35 years in the film industry.

Here are the interesting facts of Chiranjeevi:

a) Chiranjeevi was an NCC member before entered into movies. He also participated in 1970 Independence Day celebrations in Delhi.

b) He acted in the movie Punadi Rallu but his first release was Pranam Karidu. His Punadi Rallu released as his seventh movie.

c) Chiranjeevi shared the screen presence with Legendary actor NTR in the movie ‘Tirugu Leni Manishi’ and he acted as a second hero in that movie.

d) Chiranjeevi and Rajinikanth together acted in two movies. First one is Kali (1980), which is a Telugu movie while the second movie is Ranuva Viran (1981), Tamil film. Chiranjeevi acted as a villain in both the movies.

e) Chiranjeevi acted in three Hindi movies and those are all remaking films. They are Prathiband (Ankusam), Aaj Ka Gunda Raj (Gang Leader) and The Gentlemen (Gentlemen).

f) He acted in three Tamil movies Ranuvan Viran (1981) as a villain, 47 Nattukal (1981) as a lead actor and Ma Pillai (1989) in a special role.

g) Chiru acted in two Kannada movies Sipay (1996) in a special role and in Majunadha (2001) in Lord Shiva role.

h) In 1992. Chiranjeevi was known as a hero who took huge remuneration than Amitabh Bachchan. The WEEK Magazine published an article with the title ‘Bigger than Bachchan’.

i) Chiranjeevi is the only and only hero, whose films screened for 100 days and acted in Single, double and triple roles.

j) He is the first South Indian hero who received an invitation for ‘Guest of Honor’ award for 1987 Oscar Awards.

k) Chiranjeevi movies are dubbed into The Russian language also. Those movies are Swayam Krushi, Pasivadi Pranam.
