3. Heroines Glamour
4. Balakrishna Interview Episode
1. Regular Story
2. Predictable Twists
3. Weak Ending
Movie starts in Puri style. A mafia batch creates ruckus in Hyderabad city. They threaten people for money and kill police officials and those who oppose them. Balakrishna makes an entry with a peppy number “Paisa Vasool” and Kyra Dutt provided glamour feast. Then, things happen swiftly. Kyra Dutt is not a bar girl as presented, but she is a police officer. She opines Balakrishna is best option to finish off the mafia batch. Balayya gives promise to police to do the job and at the same time he makes friendship with mafia gang as well. Interim, Balakrishna admires Musskan who is in search of her investigative journalist sister Shriya Saran goes missing from last few days. Interval twist is Musskan shoots Balakrishna after receiving an information of her sister is killed by him. Balakrishna’s dialogues, Paisa Vasool song, Kyra Dutt oomph factor, Balakrishna characterization are major highlights till first half. Story shifts to Portugal, where Balakrishna works as a cab driver. He falls in love with Shriya Saran who came to the country on a mission. What happens when the mafia batch gets to know that, Shriya is trying to expose their lives is rest of story. Few fights, Mava Ek Peg La Song, Shriya glamour in Mava song and Balakrishna interview in pre-climax are best parts in second half.
Nandamuri Balakrishna steals the show with his performance. His characterization, the way he uttered powerful dialogues are a treat to watch for fans. He is too good in action sequences. His mannerisms make fans go crazy. There’s a twist in his character and you will get to know it in second half. For his age, Balakrishna worked hard on dances. Shriya Saran makes entry only in second half. Though she has got limited screen time, Shriya makes good impact. She oozed glamour in Mava Ek Peg La Song. Musskan Sethi is not a heroine material. Neither she looked gorgeous nor did she give remarkable performance. Kyra Dutt is other asset of the film. She appeared stunning in Paisa Vasool song. 30 Years Prithviraj was funny. Vikramjeet Virk, Kabir Bedi and other actors were okay.
Puri Jagannadh is not learning lessons from past debacles. Though he is penning powerful dialogues, he is not trying to write unique or engaging stories. Moreover, Paisa Vasool has shades of few Puri old movies such as Pokiri. Anup Rubens provided good album and his work on BGM was also captivating. Mukesh G’s cinematography is vivid, wherein Junaid Siddiqui’s editing work was mediocre. Production values of Bhavya Creations are top notch.
Paisa Vasool will surely gratify mass lovers and Balakrishna fans.
