Ace director SS Rajamouli’s socio-fantasy entertainer Baahubali: The Conclusion is still running into packed houses in all release centres across the nation, distributors and exhibitors are wishing to continue the film in third week as well in most of the theaters. This has become troublesome for filmmakers who are willing to release their films in this month.
Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar 3 is also the victim of Baahubali tsunami. With no exhibitor is wishing to replace Baahubali, Sarkar 3 is not getting good number of theaters, even though the film has Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan playing the lead role.
Apparently, Yashraj Films had already booked certain screens for Meri Pyaari Bindu well in advance, leaving Sarkar 3, at the receiving end, with exhibitors in no mood to relent.
Another reason why single screens don’t want to accommodate other films is a pre-condition set by Baahubali distributors that they would have to forego the film if they divide and allot shows to other films. This could prove to be a risky proposition for them.
